The holidays are a special time of year here at Hyperquake. We string up twinkling lights around the office, set up a tiny gold-and-black tree, and gather around for our annual beer exchange. As much as we each love receiving a new 6-pack of a craft brew, what we really get into is the spirit of giving.
We recently finished sending out our piles of hand-letterpressed holiday cards and stacks of holiday gifts to clients, vendors and friends. Now that they are safely in the hands of the US Postal Service, we’re excited to finally share with you the 2016 Hyperquake Holiday Gift.
THE BRAIN BLIZZARD BOX
We’re in the ideas business. All year, we’ve shared brainstorm sessions, strategy research, and design inspiration with clients in a variety of industries, on projects of all shapes and sizes. For the holidays, we decided to design a “Brain Blizzard Box” to help our clients come up with their best ideas yet in 2017. From “thinking putty” to “nuggets of wisdom” (and even a holiday cocktail), each item in the box was selected to loosen up brain cells and inspire creative thought.
The boxes were hand-screenprinted by our design team in metallic gold and white ink, with the support of DIY Printing, an awesome screenprinting studio just north of downtown. We printed each tag, sticker, and card by hand on a restored 1913 Chandler & Price letterpress (yes, printing that many pieces is a workout—we took turns).
